Bharti Airtel partners with VMware to expand managed computing services
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  11 Jun 2010

Bharti Airtel entered into a partnership with VMware to expand its managed computing services offering. The alliance aims to target the cloud-based managed computing services in India and will offer services such as web services, file, mail, database, transaction, disaster recovery, co-location and other managed services.

The services will be offered using VMware’s platform which specializes in offering virtualization solutions.

The services will be offered to enterprises on a ‘pay-per-use’ model.

"Bharti Airtel recognises the need of its customers in the virtualisation space. This brings together Bharti Airtel's managed services capabilities and virtualisation technologies from VMware," said Bharti Airtel Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Rajan Swaroop.
