TT Correspondent |  Mumbai |  16 Jun 2010

GTS Central Europe (GTS) has agreed to acquire Interware Zrt., which is Hungary-based data center services provider. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed and the deal is subject to local Competition Office approval. It is expected to be closed by Q3 2010.

Inrerware offers services such as server hosting, collocation, internet and fixed voice services primarily for business customers. It owns two data centers in Budapest spread over 1,075 net square meters of collocation space and hosts 3,300 customer servers.

The latest acquisition follows GTS acquiring Romania-based telecom operator, Datek.

“Our acquisition of Interware further solidifies the position of GTS as a significant player in the CEE data center market and a leading market consolidator among infrastructure-based telecommunications operators in the region. The Interware data centers provide our customers additional secure collocation space and expand our capabilities in the server hosting market,” said Adam Sawicki, Group CEO at GTS Central Europe. “Furthermore, our Budapest metro fiber network will provide the Interware data center customers increased connectivity options.”
