New entrant in the Indian mobile service domain, S Tel announced the launch of its services in the North Eastern states of Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya with the initial launch phase covering towns of Agartala, Dimapur, Udaipur, Kumarghat, Ranir Bazar, Chumukedima, Jowai Nongpoh.
The operator aims to cover 87 towns and over 26% of the population in the state by this year end.
Speaking on the occasion of S Tel’s launch of services in the North Eastern state, Shamik Das, CEO, S Tel said, “We strongly believe that mobile technology is a powerful tool for enriching lives and contributing to the socio-economic advancement in the state. S Tel plans to rapidly bring the benefits of technology and communication networks to the furthest parts of the state.

Commenting on the occasion, Soumen Ghosh, COO, Assam and North East Circle, S Tel said, “Today onwards S Tel products and services can be availed across 1200 plus retail points starting with 3 states. Within six months, we aim to double the size of our retailer universe i.e. above 2300 point of sales thus ensuring easy access of products anywhere across our markets of operation.” |
