Idea marks Tamil Nadu entry

Idea Cellular announced the launch of its mobile services in the Tamil Nadu circle with investments of Rs 1000 crore earmarked for expanding the services from the present 130 towns to across the state by 2011.

 

The major cities where the services are available include Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Salem, Tirupur, Erode and Vellore. The company said that it will launch its services in Chennai soon.

 

Idea plans to set-up 2,600 base stations within the next two years as part of its expansion in the state.
