ROK and WeFI to offer free mobile games over Wi-Fi
TT Bureau |  London |  17 Jun 2009

UK-based ROK Entertainment Group and Wi-Fi mapping firm, WeFi have come together to offer free mobile games via Wi-Fi. The tie-up aims to generate revenues through the advertising medium. The services are branded as WeROK.

The WeROK services will be compatible with Nokia S60 devices and it automatically scans for Wi-Fi hotspots and logs on strongest free-access hotspot within the range. Free Mobile TV, free mobile email and low-cost text services are also on offer as part of the WeROK services.

“We have already seen a fantastic level of interest in WeROK driven, largely, by our free Mobile TV service” said Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman and CEO of ROK “and we are confident the addition of free mobile games - in what we understand is a worlds first in mobile entertainment - will serve to further boost the popularity of WeROK globally”.
