HCL Infosystems will offer technology support to Uttar Pradesh government for the NREGA project in Sitapur District which will also involve developing a system to facilitate disbursement of wages to workers as well as issuing e-job cards to workers in Aliya Block.
The project will also involve addressing concerns pertaining to multiple enrollments of same worker, monitoring of employment generated, substitute/proxy workers, ensuring payments reach the beneficiary and manual maintenance of muster roll which lead to errors.
“Being a part of NREGA project, which is a nation building initiative is a matter of pride for us. Technology permeates every layer of the society and has established its importance as a driver of transformation. We are sure that using technology, will further facilitate on-ground implementation of NREGA and the benefits of this initiative will reach the right individuals and thereby multiply its impact on the society”, said Mr. George Paul, Executive Vice President, HCL Infosystems Ltd.
The project to be implemented in multiple phases will witness issuance of 1,000 e-job cards in the first phase. HCL is also mulling a tie-up with a bank to implement and support financial inclusion towards ensuring payment reaches the correct beneficiary. |
