Bharti Airtel is gradually slipping in to a stage of nominal growth where revenue and profit growth rates are single digit as compared to few years back when double digit growth rate was a normal phenomenon for the company.
The company announced financial results for Q2 ended September 30, 2009 posting revenues of Rs 9,846 crore at a yoy growth of 9% (company’s slowest ever revenue growth rate till date) and net profit of Rs 2,321 crore at a yoy rise of 13%.
EBITDA hovered at Rs 4,142 crore at a 12% rise on yearly basis but 0.07 % slid on sequential basis. Cash profit was at Rs 4,099 crore at 31 % yoy growth.
Even the revenues were at stagnant levels when compared to preceding quarter.
The net is seen at a 7.7 % on a sequential basis.
The only positive trend for the company was that subscriber base increased by 43.13 % on a yearly basis. But this same fact has pulled out its financials.
“In the near term, we are ready to face the challenges posed by heightened competition. We are confident of emerging winners through our superior offerings by way of robust network, innovative services, far-reaching distribution, world-class partners, motivated employees and a strong balance sheet,’ said Chairman and MD, Sunil Mittal.
